The Church and the Child- Part II

The well known psychologist Alfred Adler writes that the strongest thing he has found in his lifelong study of human being is their power to turn a minus into plus. Children should grow up as people who are warm, friendly, concerned with welfare of others, just, fair, honest, responsible, self reliant and hard working. Academic achievement alone will not work to make a wholesome person. As Thomas Merton said if Man is to live, he must be all alive, body, mind, and spirit. Knowledge is important but good values are more important. ‘Seek you first the kingdom of God and His justice (that is, let your first concern be to become children of God) and all else will be added unto you’, Holy Bible says. History is full of sad examples of people who abused knowledge for selfish ends causing the destruction of millions. Be sensible enough to ensure that the generation that grows up must have healthy values and a whole some vision for life. Mind that some of the best brains and talents around the world are in jail.

Here comes the spirituality aspect. The famous psychologists Dr. Abraham Maslow spend his life studying the highest potential of human nature. He came to the conclusion that spiritual life was the core of human life. Spirituality means the ability to find peace and happiness in an imperfect world. It is refining process that makes us useful and responsible human beings. There are human afflictions, a sense of involvement, honesty, discipline, and human intelligence properly guided by good motivation. When we enhance there qualities in ourselves, it becomes a daily spiritual practice, we become better people, for the betterment of ourselves and in our relationship to the world around us.

Regarding Good News for the Women of the Indian Orthodox Church - Part One

Dear Believers,

It is futile to make an uphill journey against the stonewall authorities during this age of darkness.

“If in our times, the Holy Synod as guided by the Holy Spirit takes
these issues up for consideration, and unexpectedly makes a radical decision to allow women into areas never allowed before (literally and figuratively) (many times the decisions of the Holy Spirit defies our sense of logic!)
What will be the reaction of the Orthodox Community?

1) Will we be able to see it as the light shown from above and accept it?
2) Will we rise to condemn the Holy Synod as 'hijacked by liberals'?
3) Will we be able to rely on the direction and guidance of the Holy
Spirit even then and be assured that the Lord will never ever
forsake His Holy Church or the Holy Synod?
4) Or will we be taking our wounded egos and moving out of the
Church thinking the church is doomed?
5) Is the role that the Lord will give to women in the Church in the
coming years and generations fundamental to our salvation?”

“Even if the H.Synod takes an overturning decision, you and I can do nothing because at the fullness of time such an irreligious decision is an imperative one that is the last straw that breaks the camel’s back. In Jesus’ first coming the Jewish religious and imperial hierarchy killed Him heinously and brutally, despite they were zealously waiting for Him with fasting and prayers, so also the H.Spirit who brood over the church, Bride, will be crucified abhorrently by the church, the clear sign of the coming of the Groom. In such a scenario, the Bride will go underground, Rev.12: 13-17, because the majority that is hypnotized will torture the real faithful followers by secular and religious fanatics that champion for feminism and sex power of the modern Eves. The grabbing of the fruit of the Tree of Life, the Abomination of Desolation, is the obvious and the last sign post of the coming of the Lord, Mt.24: 15. Once in such a dark time John the Baptist and his father were killed, so also the apostles later. Many good people like Simeon, Hannah, Luke.2: 22-42, Pilate’s wife, the centurion who witnessed Jesus’ death, the blind, the mute and the deaf who were cured by the Saviour would testify His Divinity at His 2nd coming, yet the Bride will be crucified for fulfilling the prophesies that are the fore-warnings and weapons of salvation.

Satan who works behind all such catastrophes will triumph over justice and truth for a short time, so that the completion of the wheel of fire is to be accomplished. A world ruler from Babylon has to choke the church and his religion is fanaticism and feminism and its profligacy for sure, Dan.11: 37. The ass majority will bow at his feet, whereas the real believers, the simple and humble uneducated worshippers who practice real religion may follow the real church, even at the peril of their glory and life. By experiencing miracles and teachings many ordinary people testified that He was the Messiah, yet the corrupt hierarchy couldn’t understand His identity. Most of Jesus’ followers and apostles were the uneducated fisher men who were having the inner glow of their mental eye by being the disciples of John the Baptist, Jn.1. We need a John the Baptist at this time of religious and man-made and natural cataclysms. Pray for a true spiritual revival, not a charismatic tornado that complements a pop culture of soul destruction. If Jesus couldn’t convert His accusers and crucifiers, what you and I can do to change the culture of the present spiritual dwarfs who relish in the religion of feminism that create the imbalance of family complementarities and the God-given role of serving the Lord by enjoying the unity of mind and body in family life. “Strike the shepherd”, the flock will be scattered certainly to the wolf’s den and many more sheep will be the prey of the satanic powers.

We won’t be able to judge now where we will be at series of crises that are to come, whether we belong to the camp of a St. Peter, a St. John, a St. Paul or a Judas. Burn the mid-night oil like the wise virgin, not like the foolish wise. Femininity that is only meant for this world will pluck the Tree of Life, Holy Mass of the Orthodox Church, the true Bride, the clear sign of the decent of the Lord. Even if I write millions and millions of pages against female priesthood, the Abomination of Desolation, that which does the Father appoint will have to be accomplished at the end of the time.”

The Church and the Child- Part I

The renowned Persian Poet, Khalil Gibran in ‘THE PROPHET’

“Your Children are not your children…

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you

Yet they belong not to you

You may give them your love but not- your thought,

For they have their own thought.

…You may strive to be like them,

But seek not to make them like you.

For life goes forward not back ward”

Every child is a unique creation of God. And behind every child there is a purpose of God, too. There is no greater honour, no greater privilege and no greater joy than to allow the master to mould our children as He pleases. As guardians of children our job is to facilitate in every child God’s plan for humanity. We should be able to do our best to realise the child’s hidden potential and in being careful never to hinder the process of God. Its should be true to say that each child is a Mr. Potential and that it is our responsibility to convert this Mr. Potential – as bestowed as them by God- into a Mr. Actual. To be a good parent, we have to put our self second to recognize that the child has feelings and needs separate from ours. Child must be placed first and is child centred. It is said that each individual has three aspects to his personality. One, what others think he is, second, what he thinks of himself; and lastly what he really is. Though it is a tall order, it must be our endeavour to see that the three aspects accord with another to the extent possible- to be at peace as an integrated person. Today a large number of children find themselves in the grip of reactions such as rejection, guilt, shame, fear, embarrassment, confusion, frustration, humiliation, failure and feeling trapped, used, controlled, betrayed or misunderstood.

“God never takes time to build a nobody

Everybody He creates is created to be somebody”

Parents should give their children the kind of training which will prepare his MIND for what the world has in store for them. He must be, made to see that if he is to live in this world, he has to face challenges, take risk and work hard and make the best of it. The difficulties and problems of life must be treated not as impossible hurdles, but as ladders of progress. Difficulties and problems too are the creation of God. If he has created unfavourable sets of circumstances, He has also given us the strength to face the successfully.
